THIS LOCAL STATEMENT OFFERS GUIDANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
MARINERS...AS WELL AS OTHER MARINE INTERESTS...ALONG ALL COASTAL
WATER LEGS OF PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS COASTAL
WATERS.
.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE NO LONGER IN EFFECT FOR
MAINLAND PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS AS WELL AS
MARINE INTERESTS ACROSS THE PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN
ISLANDS COASTAL WATERS.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF PUERTO RICO AND THE
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS.
PLEASE LISTEN CLOSELY FOR ANY FLOOD WARNINGS THAT MIGHT BE IN
EFFECT FOR YOUR AREA.
PLEASE CHECK THE LATEST PUBLIC AND MARINE FORECASTS FOR DETAILED
INFORMATION ABOUT ADDITIONAL HAZARDS.

AT 4 PM AST...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE EARL WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 21.5N...LONGITUDE 68.5W. THIS WAS ABOUT 230 MILES
NORTH-NORTHWEST OF AGUADILLA PR. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE WEST
NORTHWEST OR 300 DEGREES AT 14 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE
NEAR 135 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
WINDS HAVE DIMINISHED BELOW TROPICAL STORM FORCE ACROSS THE
OFFSHORE ATLANTIC WATERS. SHOWERS WILL ALSO DISSIPATE LATER THIS
EVENING.
