FOR MARINE INTERESTS...A TROPICAL STORM WARNING CONTINUES FOR
THE LOCAL OFFSHORE ATLANTIC WATERS OF PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S.
VIRGIN ISLANDS.
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF PUERTO RICO AND THE
U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS. PLEASE LISTEN CLOSELY FOR ANY FLOOD WARNINGS
THAT MIGHT BE IN EFFECT FOR YOUR AREA.

AT 7 AM AST...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE EARL WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 20.7N...LONGITUDE 67.2W. THIS WAS ABOUT 170 MILES
NORTH-NORTHWEST OF SAN JUAN PR...OR ABOUT 220 MILES NORTHWEST OF
SAINT THOMAS VI. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS REMAIN AT 135 MPH...AND
THE PRESENT STORM MOVEMENT IS TOWARDS THE WEST NORTHWEST AT 13
MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
AS HURRICANE EARL CONTINUES TO TRACK WEST NORTHWEST AND AWAY FROM
THE LOCAL ISLANDS...SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM WINDS ARE NO LONGER
EXPECTED ACROSS PUERTO RICO...THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS...AS WELL AS
THE LOCAL CARIBBEAN WATERS AND NEAR SHORE WATERS SURROUNDING THESE
ISLANDS. HOWEVER...TROPICAL STORM WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
ACROSS THE LOCAL OFFSHORE ATLANTIC WATERS THROUGH THE MORNING
HOURS...WITH CONDITIONS IMPROVING THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
WHILE SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS ARE NO LONGER
EXPECTED...THE OUTER RAIN BANDS OF HURRICANE EARL WILL CONTINUE
TO BRING PERIODS OF TORRENTIAL RAINFALL AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE
WIND GUSTS ACROSS SECTIONS OF PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN
ISLANDS THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. IN ADDITION...DUE TO VERY
