THE SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA COAST AND WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE
34.0 NORTH...AND LONGITUDE 77.0 WEST...OR 50 MILES...85
KM...EAST-SOUTHEAST OF WILMINGTON NORTH CAROLINA.
THIS LOW WILL MEANDER OFF THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST THROUGH
THURSDAY...THEN TURN EAST ON FRIDAY AND HEAD INTO THE ATLANTIC.
THE COMBINATION OF THE LARGE SURFACE LOW SOUTH OF AN EXPANSIVE
HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM EXTENDING EASTWARD INTO THE NORTH
ATLANTIC...WILL CREATE A LONG FETCH OF STRONG EASTERLY AND
NORTHEASTERLY WINDS FROM THE VIRGINIA COAST NORTHWARD INTO
SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. COASTAL FLOODING IS A SIGNIFICANT THREAT
FOR THIS STORM.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER EASTERN
NORTH CAROLINA...EASTERN VIRGINIA INTO SOUTHERN MARYLAND AND
SOUTHERN DELAWARE THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. ISOLATED TOTALS AROUND 8
INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA INTO SOUTHEASTERN
VIRGINIA.
