...TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...

...NEW INFORMATION...

WINDS SECTION UPDATED.
INLAND FLOODING UPDATED.
TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING EXTENDED UNTIL 2 AM IN THE MORNING
WHILE WINDS SUBSIDE.

...AREAS AFFECTED...

THIS STATEMENT APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES: GLADES, INLAND
PALM BEACH.

...WATCHES/WARNINGS...

THE FOLLOWING WATCHES AND WARNINGS ARE CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR
THIS AREA: TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM FAY CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTHEAST AWAY
FROM THE AREA. RESIDENTS SHOULD REMAIN INDOORS AS TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS, MAINLY IN SQUALLS, COULD CONTINUE TO AFFECT THE AREA
INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY MAINLY ACROSS PORTIONS
OF NORTHEAST GLADES COUNTY AND NORTHWEST INLAND PALM BEACH COUNTY
ADJACENT TO LAKE OKEECHOBEE. STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED POWER LINES. IF
POWER OUTAGES OCCUR AND A GENERATOR IS USED... ENSURE ADEQUATE
VENTILATION TO PREVENT CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...

AS THE CENTER OF FAY CONTINUES TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE AREA, WINDS
WILL GRADUALLY CONTINUE TO SUBSIDE. HOWEVER, THE STRONG SOUTHWEST
WINDS WILL CAUSE WATER TO PILE UP MAINLY ON THE NORTH AND
NORTHEASTERN SHORES OF LAKE OKEECHOBEE. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY
SHIFT FROM THE WEST SOUTHWEST LATER OVERNIGHT CAUSING WATER TO
PILE MORE ON THE EASTERN SHORE. HOWEVER, GIVEN CURRENT LAKE LEVELS
ARE WELL BELOW NORMAL, THIS IS NOT EXPECTED TO CAUSE ANY SURGE
PROBLEMS.

...WINDS...

AS OF 11 PM, WINDS ACROSS THE AREA WERE RUNNING IN THE 25 MPH TO
30 MPH RANGE WITH GUSTS OF 35 TO 45 MPH WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER WINDS
AROUND THE BRIGHTON INDIAN RESERVATION IN GLADES AND IN NORTHWEST
INLAND PALM BEACH COUNTY ADJACENT TO LAKE OKEECHOBEE. THESE WINDS WILL
GRADUALLY IMPROVE AS THE CENTER OF FAY MOVES AWAY FROM THE AREA
THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY.

...INLAND FLOODING...

TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS SINCE MONDAY SO FAR HAVE AVERAGED 4 TO 8
INCHES WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS CLOSE TO OR IN EXCESS OF 10 INCHES
PARTICULARLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF GLADES AND HENDRY COUNTIES.
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE AREA AS
SPIRAL BANDS ROTATE ACROSS THE REGION ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF FAY
THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY. BUT THE RAIN THREAT
CONTINUES TO SUBSIDE. HOWEVER, UNTIL THE RAIN BANDS CLEAR THE
AREA, THE FLOOD THREAT WILL CONTINUE PARTICULARLY ACROSS GLADES
COUNTY. LATEST REPORTS INDICATED THERE WERE STILL SOME ROADS
CLOSED NEAR THE TOWN OF MUSE IN GLADES COUNTY. ADDITIONALLY, NEAR
MUSE AND PALMDALE HOMES WERE BEING THREATEN BY RISING WATER. WATER
IS NOW STARTING TO COVER PARTS OF HIGHWAY 29, 74, AND 78 IN GLADES
COUNTY. THEREFORE A FLASH FLOOD WARNING WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT
THROUGH AT LEAST MIDNIGHT FOR GLADES.

...TORNADOES...

WITH FAY NOW NORTH OF THE AREA THE TORNADO THREAT IS MINIMAL.

...NEXT UPDATE...

THIS STATEMENT WILL BE UPDATED AROUND 2 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...

WINDS WILL CAUSE WATER TO PILE UP MAINLY ON THE NORTH AND
NORTHEASTERN SHORES. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY SHIFT FROM THE WEST
SOUTHWEST LATER TONIGHT CAUSING WATER TO PILE MORE ON THE EASTERN
