EASTWARD ACROSS THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. THE HURRICANE WARNING INCLUDES
THE ENTIRE MISSISSIPPI COAST.
A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS...WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 74 MPH...ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA WITHIN 24
HOURS.
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PEARL
RIVER TO GRAND ISLE...INCLUDING NEW ORLEANS AND LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS ON SUNDAY.

AT 400 AM CDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE DENNIS WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 23.9 NORTH...LONGITUDE 82.9 WEST OR ABOUT 525 SOUTHEAST
OF THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. DENNIS IS MOVING NORTHWEST
NEAR 14 MPH AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE
NEXT 24 HOURS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 90 MPH. DENNIS IS A
CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE. SOME RE-
STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
