...STORM INFORMATION...
HURRICANE OLAF WAS LOCATED AT 13.3 SOUTH 170.2 WEST OR ABOUT 60 NAUTICAL
MILES NORTHEAST OF MANUA AT 11 PM SST TUESDAY. HURRICANE OLAF WITH
WINDS OF 160 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 190 MPH NEAR THE CENTER...MOVING SOUTHEAST
AT 10 MPH. FORECAST TRACK WILL PLACE HURRICANE OLAF WITHIN 40 MILES EAST OF
TUTUILA...OR 20 MILES WEST OF MANUA AT 6 AM WEDNESDAY.
...STORM SURGE AND TIDE IMPACTS...
THE THREAT OF COASTAL FLOODING WILL BE ON THE INCREASE TONIGHT
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS VERY DESTRUCTIVE SEAS OF 15 TO 25 FEET WILL
GENERATE VERY DANGEROUS AND FEROCIOUS SURF OF 40 FEET WITH
OCCASIONAL HIGHER SETS OVERNIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY. COASTAL FLOODING OF
LOW-LYING AREAS ALONG THE NORTH SHORES IS IMMINENT. ALL SMALL CRAFTS
SHOULD STAY IN PORT.

HURRICANE FORCE WINDS WILL AFFECT TUTUILA AND AUNUU WHILE MANUA SHOULD
EXPECT WINDS OF 100 TO 140 MPH OVER NIGHT.

HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH HURRICANE OLAF
ARE CONTINUOUSLY MOVING OVER TUTUILA...AUNUU AND MANUA
TONIGHT...CAUSING WIDESPREAD FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AND
OVERFLOW OF STREAMS. LANDSLIDES WILL OCCUR DURING HEAVY DOWNPOUR.
HURRICANE OLAF HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING
AND MUDSLIDE THAT WILL BE A THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY.
