FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...
THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE
KATRINA...LOCATED ABOUT 35 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF NEW ORLEANS
LOUISIANA...AND HAS ISSUED THE LAST ADVISORY ON DISSIPATING
TROPICAL DEPRESSION THIRTEEN...LOCATED ABOUT 745 MILES
EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES. THE REMNANTS OF THE
DEPRESSION WILL BE MONITORED FOR SIGNS OF REGENERATION.
SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE JUST
SOUTH OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS IS BEING ABSORBED BY A LARGER AREA
OF LOW PRESSURE CENTERED ABOUT 650 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE
VERDE ISLANDS. THIS NEW SYSTEM HAS BECOME A LITTLE BETTER ORGANIZED
THIS MORNING AND HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME DEVELOPMENT DURING THE
NEXT DAY OR TWO...AS IT MOVES TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST OR
NORTHWEST.
SHOWER ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH AN ILL-DEFINED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE
SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS HAS
DIMINISHED.
ELSEWHERE... TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
TUESDAY.
