NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1030 PM EDT SUN AUG 21 2005
FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS CENTERED INLAND OVER SOUTHEASTERN MEXICO
BETWEEN GUATEMALA AND THE SOUTHWESTERN GULF OF MEXICO. THIS SYSTEM
IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH. ASSOCIATED
SHOWER ACTIVITY REMAINS LIMITED AND DISORGANIZED... AND SIGNIFICANT
DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM APPEARS UNLIKELY SINCE IT WILL REMAIN
CLOSE TO OR OVER LAND DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO. HOWEVER... SOME
DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE IF IT EMERGES INTO IN THE SOUTHWESTERN GULF
OF MEXICO TOMORROW. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE UNIT RECONNAISSANCE
AIRCRAFT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO INVESTIGATE THE SYSTEM LATE TOMORROW
AFTERNOON... IF NECESSARY.
A LARGE TROPICAL WAVE IS LOCATED OVER THE FAR EASTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN
ABOUT 200 MILES WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.
WHILE THERE HAS BEEN A SLIGHT INCREASE IN THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
THIS EVENING... THE OVERALL ORGANIZATION OF THIS SYSTEM HAS CHANGED
LITTLE. HOWEVER... IT HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME DEVELOPMENT
DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT MOVES SLOWLY WESTWARD.
A TROPICAL WAVE CONTINUES TO PRODUCE AN AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND
SHOWERS OVER HISPANIOLA AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS... AND
EXTENDING NORTHWARD OVER THE ADJACENT ATLANTIC OCEAN FOR A COUPLE
HUNDRED MILES. THIS SYSTEM REMAINS DISORGANIZED AND IS NOT
EXPECTED TO DEVELOP INTO A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR
TWO AS IT MOVES WESTWARD.
ELSEWHERE... TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
TUESDAY.
