VENTILATED GENERATORS.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES THIS MORNING AND THEN AGAIN THIS EVENING
COMBINED WITH STRONG EAST AND SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE THE
LIKELIHOOD OF COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION ALONG THE GEORGIA
AND SOUTH CAROLINA COASTS. TIDES EARLY THIS MORNING ARE RUNNING
ABOUT A HALF OF FOOT ABOVE PREDICTED LEVELS. AS WINDS INCREASE LATER
TODAY...WATER MAY APPROACH HIGHWAY U.S. 80 NEAR FORT PULASKI DURING
TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON MAY EXPERIENCE HIGH WATER AS
WELL AS HEAVY RAINFALL COMBINES WITH THE HIGH TIDES. HIGH TIDES WILL
OCCUR AT THE SAVANNAH RIVER ENTRANCE AT 741 AM THIS MORNING AND THEN
AGAIN AT 814 PM THIS EVENING. HIGH TIDES IN CHARLESTON HARBOR WILL

RESIDENTS SHOULD EXPECT WATER LEVELS ON THE BEACHES TO INCREASE WITH
WATER UP TO THE DUNES IN MANY LOCATIONS. MODERATE BEACH EROSION WILL
OCCUR.

...WIND IMPACTS...
WINDS ALONG THE GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA COASTS EARLY THIS MORNING
ARE BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH WITH A FEW HIGHER GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH.
SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE ALONG THE COAST...AVERAGING 30 TO 40
MPH WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 50 MPH MAINLY IN SQUALLS. INLAND AREAS OF
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA WILL SEE WINDS INCREASE THROUGH THE MORNING AS
WELL. SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 30 TO 35 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED OVER INLAND
AREAS OF GEORGIA WITH SPEEDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH EXPECTED OVER INLAND
SOUTH CAROLINA. GUSTS TO OVER 50 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED MAINLY IN HEAVY
SQUALLS AND RAINBANDS. REPORTS OF TREES DOWN AND SOME POWER OUTAGES
ARE BEING REPORTED IN MANY SOUTHEAST GEORGIA COUNTIES AND SOME
COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA ALONG THE SAVANNAH RIVER. MOST
AREAS WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR WIND DAMAGE AND SOME POWER OUTAGES.

...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO BE ROUGH ACROSS THE GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA
COASTAL WATERS TODAY. LARGE BREAKERS OF 5 TO 9 FEET CAN BE EXPECTED
ALONG THE BEACHES TODAY WHICH WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SURF
CONDITIONS AND A HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS. SWIMMERS AND SURFERS
ARE ENCOURAGED TO REMAIN OUT OF THE WATER.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
BANDS OF RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH JEANNE WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD ACROSS
THE AREA. THE HEAVIEST RAINS WILL OCCUR TODAY AS CENTER OF JEANNE
MOVES INTO CENTRAL GEORGIA BY THIS AFTERNOON AND AND THEN INTO
CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA BY LATE THIS EVENING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO
6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING...MAINLY EAST
OF INTERSTATE 95. 4 TO 8 INCHES IS POSSIBLE WEST OF INTERSTATE 95.
WITH THE POTENTIAL OF FLOODING...A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH
EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. SOME MINOR FLOODING IS BEING REPORTED ACROSS
SECTIONS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA. AREAS OF DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON WILL

WATCH CURRENTLY IN AFFECT FOR ALL OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND SOUTHEAST
SOUTH CAROLINA UNTIL 9 AM. ADDITIONAL TORNADO WATCHES ARE LIKELY
THIS MORNING...LASTING THROUGH MUCH OF THE AFTERNOON. THIS HAS THE
POTENTIAL OF BEING A SIGNIFICANT TORNADO OUTBREAK. RESIDENTS SHOULD
BE PREPARED TO SEE SHELTER IN A STURDY BUILDING IF A TORNADO WARNING
IS ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA.
