A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM ST. AUGUSTINE FLORIDA TO
SAVANNAH GEORGIA...INCLUDING THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.
AN INLAND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF INLAND
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.
A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.
A RIVER FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE SAVANNAH RIVER
INCLUDING CLYO.

AT 2 PM EDT...TROPICAL STORM JEANNE WAS LOCATED AT 28.3 NORTH...82.2
WEST...OR ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BROOKSVILLE FLORIDA. THIS IS
ALSO 260 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF SAVANNAH GEORGIA. THE TROPICAL
STORM IS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 10 MPH AND IS EXPECTED TO MAKE A TURN TO
THE NORTH OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR
70 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. JEANNE WILL CONTINUE TO DECREASE IN
STRENGTH THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA SHOULD PREPARE NOW FOR MINIMAL
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS. TIE DOWN OUTDOOR LOOSE OBJECTS SUCH AS
GRILLS...PATIO FURNITURE AND TRASH CANS. POWER OUTAGES ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE TONIGHT AND MONDAY. IF YOU PLAN ON USING A PORTABLE
GENERATOR...CHECK IT NOW FOR PROPER VENTILATION. CARBON MONOXIDE
POISONING DEATHS CAN OCCUR DUE TO IMPROPERLY VENTILATED GENERATORS.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES THIS AFTERNOON AND MONDAY COMBINED WITH
STRONG EAST AND NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF
COASTAL FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION ALONG THE GEORGIA COAST. TIDES
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON ARE RUNNING ABOUT 1 FOOT ABOVE PREDICTED LEVELS.
AT THESE LEVELS...WATER MAY APPROACH HIGHWAY U.S. 80 NEAR FORT
PULASKI DURING TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT THE
SAVANNAH RIVER ENTRANCE AT 727 PM THIS EVENING AND 741 AM MONDAY
MORNING.
...WIND IMPACTS...
WINDS ALONG COASTAL GEORGIA EARLY THIS AFTERNOON ARE BETWEEN 20 AND
30 MPH WITH A FEW HIGHER GUSTS. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY
INCREASE LATER TODAY AND ESPECIALLY TONIGHT AND ON MONDAY AS JEANNE
DRAWS CLOSER. WINDS OF 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 40 MPH CAN BE
EXPECTED LATER THIS AFTERNOON ALONG THE COAST WITH WINDS OF 15 TO 25
MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH FARTHER INLAND. TROPICAL STORM FORCE
WINDS...BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MPH...ARE EXPECTED AT THE COAST TONIGHT.
...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE ACROSS THE GEORGIA COASTAL WATERS
THROUGH MONDAY. LARGE BREAKERS OF 5 TO 9 FEET CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG
THE BEACHES THIS AFTERNOON WHICH WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SURF
CONDITIONS AND A HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS. SWIMMERS AND SURFERS ARE
ENCOURAGED TO REMAIN OUT OF THE WATER.
...FLOOD IMPACTS...
THE OUTER BANDS OF JEANNE WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN GEORGIA
THIS AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST RAINS WILL OCCUR LATER TONIGHT AND ON
MONDAY AS JEANNE APPROACHES. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES CAN BE
EXPECTED THROUGH MONDAY. WITH THE POTENTIAL OF FLOODING TONIGHT AND
MONDAY...A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH MIDDAY MONDAY.
...TORNADOES...
THE RISK FOR TORNADOES WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE THROUGH MONDAY. AS A
RESULT...TORNADO WATCHES COULD BE ISSUED LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY.
