HURRICANE JEANNE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 26.5 NORTH...LONGITUDE
74.9 WEST OR ABOUT 135 MILES...EAST OF GREAT ABACO ISLAND. THIS ALSO
ABOUT 480 MILES...SOUTHEAST OF MAYPORT.
JEANNE IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 12 MPH AND THIS GENERAL MOTION
IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 12 TO 24 HOURS. ON THIS
TRACK...THE CORE OF JEANNE WILL BE MOVING ACROSS THE NORTHWESTERN
BAHAMAS ON SATURDAY.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 100 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME
STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND JEANNE HAS THE
CHANCE TO BECOME A MAJOR HURRICANE BEFORE LANDFALL IN FLORIDA.
REMEMBER A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED IN SOME PORTION OF THE WARNING AREA. ALL EXPECTED IMPACTS
ARE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE ULTIMATE TRACK AND INTENSITY OF JEANNE.

SATURDAY. BY SATURDAY NIGHT...TIDES OF 2 TO 3 FEET ABOVE THE
HEIGHT OF NORMAL TIDES WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH VALUES OF 3 TO 5 FEET
ABOVE NORMAL POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT DUE TO
PERSISTENT ONSHORE WINDS...TIDE LEVELS ON THE ST. JOHNS RIVER ARE
ALREADY ABOVE NORMAL. COMBINED WITH ALREADY HIGH ASTRONOMICAL
TIDES...IF THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK MATERIALIZES...SIGNIFICANT
FLOODING MAY OCCUR ALONG THE ST. JOHNS RIVER.
...WIND IMPACTS...
SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE TO THE 20 TO 30 MPH BY LATE SATURDAY
WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE
IMMEDIATE BEACHES. WINDS COULD INCREASE TO TROPICAL STORM FORCE
IN PORTIONS OF ALACHUA...BRADFORD AND MARION COUNTIES ON SATURDAY
NIGHT. BASED ON THE CURRENT TRACK AND INTENSITY FORECAST OF
HURRICANE JEANNE...WINDS MAY INCREASE TO STRONG TROPICAL STORM
STRENGTH OVER PORTIONS OF CLAY...FLAGLER...PUTNAM AND ST JOHNS
COUNTIES EARLY ON SUNDAY AND THEN SPREAD NORTHWARD DURING THE DAY.
...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND. SMALL
CRAFT SHOULD STAY IN PORT. HIGH SURF WILL CONTINUE IN THE 6 TO 8 FOOT
RANGE TODAY AND GRADUALLY INCREASE THROUGH SUNDAY. HEAVY SURF AND
BEACH EROSION WILL CONTINUE TO WORSEN SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY.

HURRICANE JEANNE WILL POSE A THREAT OF HEAVY RAINFALL AS IT MOVES
NORTHWEST ON SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. AREAS ALONG THE PATH COULD
SEE RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES. SUCH RAINS WOULD POSE A
RENEWED THREAT OF FLOODING ON AREA RIVERS.
