THIS STATEMENT RECOMMENDS SPECIFIC ACTIONS TO BE TAKE BY RESIDENTS
OF LIBERTY...CHAMBERS...HARRIS...AND GALVESTON COUNTIES OF TEXAS.

A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR BRAZORIA...CHAMBERS...FORT
BEND...GALVESTON...HARRIS...HOUSTON...LIBERTY...MONTGOMERY...POLK...
SAN JACINTO...TRINITY AND WALKER COUNTIES THROUGH FRIDAY.

AT 10 PM CDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 29.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 93.5 WEST...OR ABOUT 25 MILES
EAST SOUTHEAST OF PORT ARTHUR TEXAS.

.MOVEMENT...
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN IS MOVING NORTHWEST NEAR 8 MPH. THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS BRINGING IVAN
INLAND INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS OVERNIGHT.

.WINDS...
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE NEAR 35 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS MAINLY
NORTH AND EAST OF THE CENTER. A GRADUAL WEAKENING IS EXPECTED AS
IVAN MOVES FURTHER INLAND.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
TIDE LEVELS ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING 0.5 TO 1.0 FEET ABOVE NORMAL ALONG
THE UPPER TEXAS COAST AND GALVESTON BAY. ACTUAL TIDE LEVELS RANGE
FROM 1.0 TO 2.0 FEET.

AS IVAN MOVES INLAND TONIGHT OVER EXTREME SOUTHEAST TEXAS OFFSHORE
WINDS WILL DEVELOP AND TIDES WILL GRADUALLY RETURN TO NEAR NORMAL
LEVELS TONIGHT.

NONE EXPECTED.

...RAINFALL...
HEAVY RAINFALL AND THE THREAT OF FLOODING WILL BE TROPICAL
DEPRESSION IVAN'S PRIMARY IMPACT ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

PRECIPITATION IN EXTREME SOUTHEAST TEXAS NEAR BEAUMONT IS EXPECTED TO
SLOWLY SPREAD WEST AND NORTHWEST AS THE LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION FROM
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN MOVES NORTHWEST.

THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN FRIDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE
THROUGH SATURDAY AFTER THE CENTER OF IVAN MOVES WELL INLAND. EXPECT
WIDESPREAD STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH ISOLATED
AMOUNTS OF 10 INCHES OR MORE POSSIBLE NEAR WHERE THE CENTER OF IVAN
TRACKS ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
