AT 6 PM CDT...IVAN WAS LOCATED AT 26.9 NORTH...89.3 WEST...WHICH IS
224 MILES SOUTHEAST OF MORGAN CITY LOUISIANA...311 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
CAMERON LOUISIANA...AND 336 MILES OF SOUTHEAST OF SABINE PASS
TEXAS.
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN WAS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT 14
MPH. THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON
THIS FORECAST TRACK...THE CENTER OF IVAN IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE
UPPER TEXAS COAST NEAR GALVESTON TEXAS LATE THURSDAY NIGHT INTO
EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS MAINLY TO
THE NORTH OF THE CENTER. SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE
NEXT 24 HOURS AND IVAN WILL LIKELY REGAIN TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH
BEFORE MAKING LANDFALL.

RESIDENTS NEAR THE COAST SHOULD BE ALERT TO COASTAL FLOODING
...ESPECIALLY DURING PERIODS OF HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES. DANGEROUS
SURF AND CURRENTS WILL OCCUR.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
STORM SURGE AND TIDAL VALUES WILL RUN BETWEEN 2 AND A HALF AND 3 FEET
ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MEANS OVERALL WATER LEVELS WILL FLUCTUATE
BETWEEN 5 AND 6 FEET THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.

TORNADOES ARE NOT EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO AVERAGE 3 TO 5 INCHES OVER
SOUTHEAST TEXAS. TWO TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED OVER
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA WITH 1 TO 3 OF RAIN OVER SOUTH-CENTRAL LOUISIANA.
THE EXACT AMOUNT OF RAINFALL WILL BE DEPENDENT UPON THE TRACK AND
SPEED OF IVAN.

OVER THE COASTAL WATERS...EAST WINDS OF 20 TO 25 KNOTS ARE EXPECTED
TONIGHT WITH SEAS OF 5 TO 7 FEET LIKELY. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO
INCREASE UP TO 35 KNOTS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS THURSDAY AFTERNOON
WITH SEAS OF 7 TO 10 FEET. OVERLAND...WINDS SHOULD BE EASTERLY NEAR
10 TO 15 MPH TONIGHT INCREASING THROUGH THE DAY ON THURSDAY.
