ALTHOUGH CONDITIONS HAVE IMPROVED IN THE LOWER KEYS...RESIDENTS
SHOULD BE AWARE THAT SQUALLS BRINGING HEAVY RAIN AND WIND GUSTS
NEARING 40 MILES PER HOUR ARE STILL POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
NO SIGNIFICANT STORM SURGE IS EXPECTED IN THE KEYS WITH THE PASSAGE
OF HURRICANE IVAN. HOWEVER...HIGH TIDES IN THE LOWER KEYS COULD RUN
UP TO ONE FOOT ABOVE NORMAL TODAY. THIS MAY CAUSE SOME MINOR
OVERWASH ONTO STREETS AND SHORES ALONG THE ATLANTIC-FACING COASTLINE
NEAR HIGH TIDE...AND MAINLY IN THE LOWER KEYS. THE NEXT HIGH TIDE AT
KEY WEST HARBOR WILL OCCUR AT 1057 THIS EVENING.

AT 800 PM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 24.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE 87.0 WEST. THIS IS ABOUT 325 MILES
SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS WERE NEAR 140 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. THIS MAKES
IVAN A DANGEROUS CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON
SCALE. FLUCTUATIONS IN INTENSITY ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 24
HOURS. IVAN WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH. THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. MINIMUM
CENTRAL PRESSURE WAS MEASURED AT 929 MB...OR 27.43 INCHES OF MERCURY.
