THIS STATEMENT IS SPECIFIC TO THE FLORIDA KEYS OF MONROE COUNTY.

NO WATCHES OR WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS AT THIS
TIME.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 800 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 18.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 81.2 WEST...OR ABOUT 35 MILES SOUTH
OF GRAND CAYMAN. THIS IS ABOUT 400 MILES SOUTH OF KEY WEST. MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 155 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. THIS MAKES
IVAN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CATEGORY FOUR ON THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON
SCALE. SOME FLUCTUATIONS IN INTENSITY ARE LIKELY DURING THE NEXT 24
HOURS. IVAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 9 MPH...AND A
TURN TOWARD THE NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. ON
THIS TRACK...THE CENTER OF IVAN SHOULD BE NEAR GRAND CAYMAN BY THIS
AFTERNOON. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE WAS ESTIMATED AT 919 MB...OR
27.14 INCHES OF MERCURY.

TURNPIKE HAVE BEEN LIFTED. THE MONROE COUNTY INFORMATION HOT-LINE
HAS THE LATEST INFORMATION. THEY MAY BE REACHED AT 1 800...9 5 5...5

TRAFFIC AT NOON ON SATURDAY. GREYHOUND BUS LINES HAS SUSPENDED ITS
SERVICE BETWEEN THE KEYS AND MIAMI...UNTIL THE THREAT OF HAZARDOUS
CONDITIONS FROM HURRICANE IVAN HAS ENDED. FOR UPDATES AND DETAILS ON
