THIS STATEMENT IS SPECIFIC TO THE FLORIDA KEYS OF MONROE COUNTY.

NO WATCHES OR WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS AT THIS
TIME.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 200 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 17.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 77.3 WEST...OR ABOUT 50 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF KINGSTON JAMAICA. THIS IS ABOUT 565 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
KEY WEST. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE NEAR 155 MILES AN
HOUR...MAKING IVAN AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE ON
THE SAFFIR-SIMPSON SCALE...AND IT IS POSSIBLE IVAN COULD REGAIN
CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE STATUS AS IT PASSES JAMAICA. IVAN HAS WOBBLED
TOWARD THE WEST FOR THE PAST FEW HOURS...BUT IS EXPECTED TO RESUME A
WEST NORTHWEST MOTION NEAR 10 MILES AN HOUR. MINIMUM CENTRAL
PRESSURE WAS ESTIMATED AT 920 MB...OR 27.17 INCHES OF MERCURY.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A MANDATORY EVACUATION OF KEYS RESIDENTS IS IN EFFECT.  RESIDENTS
SHOULD EVACUATE NOW. RESIDENTS...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR RE-ENTRY
PERMIT. THE SHELTER FOR MONROE COUNTY IS LOCATED AT FLORIDA
INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY. TAKE U.S. 1 NORTH TO THE TURNPIKE...THEN
EXIT EAST ON SW 8TH STREET. FOLLOW THE SIGNS TO THE SHELTER...WHICH
IS NOW OPEN. SHELTERS IN THE KEYS WILL NOT BE OPEN. TOLLS AT CARD
SOUND ROAD AND ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE HAVE BEEN LIFTED. THE MONROE
COUNTY INFORMATION HOT-LINE HAS THE LATEST INFORMATION. THEY MAY BE
REACHED AT 1 800...9 5 5...5 5 0 4. KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
WILL CONTINUE COMMERCIAL FLIGHT OPERATIONS THROUGH NOON TODAY. CHECK
WITH YOUR AIRLINE FOR YOUR FLIGHT STATUS. GREYHOUND BUS LINES WILL
BE RUNNING A NORMAL SCHEDULE TODAY. CALL 1 800...2 3 1...2 2 2 2 FOR
DETAILS AND SEAT AVAILABILITY. THE CITY OF KEY WEST WILL HAVE FREE
BUS SERVICE ON A FIRST COME...FIRST SERVED BASIS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE

WILL LEAVE AT 600 AM THIS MORNING FROM DOUGLASS GYM ON EMMA
STREET...KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL...AND ALONG COLLEGE ROAD AT THE
AMERICAN LEGION...GOLF COURSE...AND DETENTION CENTER ROAD. PETS WILL
NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE BUSES. THE AUTHORITIES ASK THAT YOU REMAIN
CALM...AND LISTEN FOR LATER INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS. ONCE
AGAIN...THE MONROE COUNTY EMERGENCY HOT-LINE IS 1 800...9 5 5...5 5
