WITH GUSTS TO 110 KT. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 960 MB. SEE

CAT 2 HURRICANE WITH LESS CONVECTION IN FEEDER BANDS ESPECIALLY

AREA. OUTFLOW IS MOST PRONOUNCED IN THE NORTHEAST SEMICIRCLE DUE
TO SOUTHWESTERLY SHEAR ALOFT. MODERATE SUBSIDENCE IS ALSO NOTED
ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY W OF THE CENTER OVER FLORIDA AND THE E
GULF OF MEXICO. SCATTERED STRONG CONVECTION IS WITHIN 50 NM IN
THE NE SEMICIRCLE. SCATTERED MODERATE/ISOLATED STRONG CONVECTION
EXTENDS FROM 24N-30N BETWEEN 73W-79W.

TROPICAL STORM IVAN IS CENTERED NEAR 9.0N 37.4W AT 04/0900 UTC
MOVING W AT 16 KT. THE MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WIND SPEED IS 50 KT
WITH GUSTS TO 60 KT. ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 997

FRANCES. AT THE SURFACE...OUTER RAIN BANDS CONTINUES TO

UPPER LEVEL HIGH CONTINUES IN THE STRAITS OF FLORIDA SW OF
HURRICANE FRANCES NEAR 24N82W WITH BROAD FLOW COVERING THE W
ATLC INTO THE CENTRAL/WESTERN CARIBBEAN W OF 67W. THIS IS
CONTRIBUTING TO THE WESTERLY SHEAR THAT FRANCES CONTINUES TO
EXPERIENCE. MODERATE UPPER LEVEL SUBSIDENCE IS SUPPRESSING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CARIBBEAN. MID/UPPER LEVEL
LOW IS OVER THE WINDWARD ISLANDS NEAR 14N61W WITH FLOW COVERING
THE E CARIBBEAN AND W TROPICAL ATLC FROM 11N-21N BETWEEN
