THIS STATEMENT RECOMMENDS ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY RESIDENTS IN THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA...CAMDEN AND GLYNN...AS WELL
AS THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE COASTAL SECTIONS
OF CAMDEN AND GLYNN COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND THE ADJACENT
COASTAL WATERS.
...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 2 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM GASTON WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 32.1 NORTH...LONGITUDE 79.4 WEST OR ABOUT 65 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA.
GASTON IS CURRENTLY DRIFTING NORTH NORTHWEST. A SLOW MOTION TOWARD
THE NORTH IS EXPECTED TODAY. THIS MOTION WILL BRING THE CENTER OF
GASTON TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA COAST THIS AFTERNOON.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE 65 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. GASTON COULD
BECOME A HURRICANE BEFORE REACHING THE SOUTH CAROLINA COAST.

AT THIS TIME...THE PRIMARY IMPACT FROM TROPICAL STORM GASTON FOR
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA WILL BE IN THE COASTAL AND OFFSHORE WATERS. COASTAL
AND MARINE INTERESTS IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA SHOULD REVIEW PREPAREDNESS
PLANS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION QUICKLY IN THE EVENT WARNINGS
ARE REQUIRED.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
NONE AT THIS TIME.

BASED UPON THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK...WINDS IN THE COASTAL WATERS
WILL SUSTAIN BETWEEN 15 AND 25 MPH WITH GUSTS NEAR 35 MPH POSSIBLE
THROUGH EARLY THIS MORNING.
...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
BOATERS IN THE GEORGIA COASTAL WATERS CAN EXPECT SEAS OF 5 TO 7 FEET
OUT TO 20 NM...AND SEAS OF 7 TO 10 FEET 20 NM TO 60 NM OUT. SEAS WILL
SLOWLY SUBSIDE TODAY. SMALL CRAFT SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT AT THIS TIME.
A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS IS EXPECTED ALONG THE GEORGIA COAST.
A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS MEANS WIND AND/OR WAVE CONDITIONS
SUPPORT STRONGER OR MORE FREQUENT RIP CURRENTS. ONLY EXPERIENCED SURF
SWIMMERS SHOULD ENTER THE WATER.
