DARE...CARTERET...HYDE...PAMLICO...CRAVEN...BEAUFORT...ONSLOW...

...WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE NORTH CAROLINA
COAST INCLUDING THE ALBEMARLE AND PAMLICO SOUNDS. AN INLAND TROPICAL
STORM WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR INLAND COUNTIES OF EASTERN NORTH
CAROLINA THROUGH THIS EVENING. A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR EASTERN
NORTH CAROLINA THROUGH THIS EVENING. A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA UNTIL 9 PM THIS EVENING.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 2 PM EDT THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM CHARLEY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 34.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 77.9 WEST OR ABOUT 35 MILES NORTH OF
WILMINGTON NORTH CAROLINA. CHARLEY IS MOVING TOWARD THE
NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 30 MPH AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS...MOVING CHARLEY ACROSS EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED
TO NEAR 70 MPH WITH GUSTS TO HURRICANE FORCE. CONTINUED WEAKENING IS
FORECAST AS CHARLEY REMAINS OVER LAND.

...WIND IMPACTS...
WIND GUSTS TO HURRICANE FORCE WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE COASTAL
COASTAL COUNTIES OF ONSLOW AND CARTERET DURING THE AFTERNOON.
OTHERWISE...WINDS GUSTS IN THE 40 TO 60 MPH RANGE WILL SPREAD ACROSS
INLAND COUNTIES OF EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND THE OUTER BANKS DURING
THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
WATER WILL RISE UP TO 2 FEET IN THE PAMLICO RIVER AND IN THE PUNGO
RIVER THIS AFTERNOON. AT NEW BERN...WATER WILL RISE TO AROUND 2 FEET
ABOVE NORMAL. IN ONSLOW COUNTY AND ALONG BOGUE BANKS AROUND 3 FEET
OF STORM SURGE IS EXPECTED. STORM SURGE WILL BE AROUND 2 FEET FROM
CAPE LOOKOUT NORTHWARD TO THE OUTER BANKS. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR
ALONG THE COAST BETWEEN 7 PM TO 730 PM THIS EVENING.

...RAINFALL IMPACTS...
AN ADDITIONAL TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF RAINFALL IS EXPECTED THROUGH
THIS EVENING WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS UP TO SIX INCHES POSSIBLE.
RAINFALL WILL TAPER OFF FROM SOUTH TO NORTH LATER THIS AFTERNOON
CONTINUING INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. HEAVY RAIN WILL LIKELY
RESULT IN LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING.

...TORNADOES...
ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
THROUGH THIS EVENING.

...MARINE INFORMATION...
SEAS OF 10 TO 12 FEET WILL RESULT IN HIGH SURF AND MODERATE BEACH
EROSION.

...RIP CURRENT INFORMATION...
A HIGH THREAT OF RIP CURRENTS WILL CONTINUE ALONG THE COAST THROUGH
SUNDAY. THESE DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS WILL BE LIFE THREATENING TO
ANYONE WHO ENTERS THE WATER.
