A HURRICANE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH CAROLINA COAST AND
TO OREGON INLET NORTH CAROLINA. A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS WINDS OVER
74 MPH WILL OCCUR WITHIN 24 HOURS.
AN INLAND HURRICANE WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR COLUMBUS AND

190 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA.
CHARLEY WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 25 MPH...AND A
GRADUAL INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 85 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. HURRICANE
FORCE WINDS EXTEND 25 MILES FROM THE CENTER.

AFTER SUNRISE THROUGH LATE MORNING. HURRICANE FORCE WINDS WILL
AFFECT THE GEORGETOWN AND HORRY COUNTIES COAST AROUND NOON AND
CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH WINDS WILL
DIMINISH FROM THE SOUTH DURING THE AFTERNOON...LEAVING THE AREA BY
LATE AFTERNOON.

BASED ON THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK FOR CHARLEY...WINDS WILL BE
ONSHORE ACROSS THE AREA. WITH THE CURRENT PROJECTED STRENGTH AND
LOCATION OF THE STORM...TIDES WILL BE 8 TO 10 FEET ABOVE NORMAL
ALONG THE SOUTH FACING BEACHES OF BRUNSWICK COUNTY AND NORTHERN
HORRY COUNTY...AROUND 4 TO 6 FEET ALONG THE EAST FACES BEACHES OF
GEORGETOWN AND SOUTHERN HORRY COUNTY...AND AROUND 4 FT FEET ON THE
BEACHES OF NEW HANOVER AND PENDER COUNTIES. IT IS EXPECTED THE
HIGHEST SURGE OCCUR AT ABOUT THE TIME OF LOW TIDE. LOW TIDE WILL
OCCUR AT 1:22 PM AT LOCKWOODS FOLLY INLET NEAR HOLDEN BEACH ON
SATURDAY. AT SPRINGMAID PIER AT MYRTLE BEACH LOW TIDE WILL OCCUR AT
1:07 PM AND AT MASONBORO INLET NEAR WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH LOW TIDE WILL
OCCUR AT 1:13 PM. MODERATE TO SEVERE BEACH EROSION IS POSSIBLE WITH
THIS STORM.

SEAS WILL BUILD TO AT LEAST 10 TO 15 FEET ON SATURDAY...WITH
DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS. MARINERS SHOULD STAY IN PORT.

WITH THE RAINFALL DURING THE PAST 24 HOURS FROM THE REMNANTS OF
BONNIE...THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED IN SOME AREAS. AN
