HURRICANE WARNING IN EFFECT FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COAST FROM
COCOA BEACH NORTHWARD TO FLAGLER BEACH. TROPICAL STORM WARNING IN
EFFECT FROM JUPITER INLET TO COCOA BEACH.
A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT
FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA THROUGH SATURDAY.
A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA
UNTIL 2 AM SATURDAY.

AT 1130 PM...THE CIRCULATION CENTER OF HURRICANE CHARLEY WAS OVER
THE COAST NEAR DAYTONA BEACH...AND CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTHEAST AT 25
MPH.
DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS BETWEEN 90 AND 100 MPH WILL OCCUR AS THE EYE
WALL OF THE HURRICANE MOVES ACROSS EASTERN VOLUSIA AND NORTHERN
BREVARD COUNTY THROUGH 12:30 AM. WIND GUSTS OF 60 MPH WILL OCCUR IN
TRAILING RAINBANDS ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN BREVARD COUNTY...AND
WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME STRUCTURES...TREES... POWERLINES. FLYING
DEBRIS WILL CREATE AN EXTREME HAZARD...REMAIN OFF ROADWAYS.
AT 1100 PM...THE DAYTONA BEACH AIRPORT WEATHER OBSERVED ESTIMATED
WINDS OF 60 TO 70 MPH. AT 1054 PM...A WEATHER SPOTTER IN DAYTONA
BEACH NEAR U.S. 1 ESTIMATED 80 TO 90 MPH WIND GUSTS.
IMPROVING CONDITIONS WILL ALLOW RECOVERY EFFORTS TO BEGIN ACROSS
SEMINOLE AND ORANGE COUNTIES. A THREAT FOR LOCALLY DAMAGING WINDS IN
SQUALLS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH ABOUT MIDNIGHT ACROSS BREVARD COUNTY.
ONCE ALL THE WINDS SUBSIDE OVER EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA...TRAVEL WILL
REMAIN DANGEROUS IN MAY AREAS DUE TO DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES.

NEAR THE STORM TRACK. IF STRONG WINDS PASS OVER YOUR AREA TAKE THE

ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET HALLWAY OR BATHROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OR SEEK
SAFETY IN COUNTY OPERATED SHELTERS. WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES CAN BE
