...THE HURRICANE WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE AREA ALONG
THE FLORIDA WEST COAST FROM THE SUWANNEE RIVER NORTHWARD TO THE
STEINHATCHEE RIVER WHICH INCLUDES THE COASTLINE OF DIXIE COUNTY...

...THE FLOOD WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN CANCELED FOR DIXIE...TAYLOR...
LAFAYETTE...JEFFERSON...AND MADISON COUNTIES...

...AREAS AFFECTED...
THIS STATEMENT RECOMMENDS ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOR RESIDENTS OF THE
EXTREME SOUTHEAST FLORIDA BIG BEND INCLUDING DIXIE...MADISON...
TAYLOR...AND LAFAYETTE COUNTIES.

...WATCH AND WARNING INFORMATION...
THE HURRICANE WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELED THAT WAS IN EFFECT ALONG THE
FLORIDA WEST COAST FROM THE SUWANNEE RIVER NORTHWARD TO THE
STEINHATCHEE RIVER. THIS INCLUDES THE COASTAL AREAS OF DIXIE COUNTY.

...STORM INFORMATION...
AT 5 PM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE CHARLEY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 26.9 NORTH...LONGITUDE  82.2 WEST OR ABOUT 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF
FT. MYERS FLORIDA. CHARLEY WAS MOVING NORTH-NORTHEAST AT 22 MPH...AND THIS
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE AND INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED THROUGH
SATURDAY. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE 140 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. WEAKENING
IS FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS...AS CHARLEY MOVES ACROSS FLORIDA AND WILL
BE OFF THE NORTHEAST FLORIDA COAST SATURDAY MORNING.


...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
NONE. FOR THE AREA...SOME GUSTY WINDS MAY BE SEEN TONIGHT...BUT THE THREAT
WILL BE LIMITED...AND CONTINUE TO LOWER OVERNIGHT. RESIDENTS SHOULD CONTINUE
TO MONITOR CHARLEY'S MOVEMENT AND STRENGTH FOR ANY CHANGES.

...RAINFALL AND FLOOD POTENTIAL INFORMATION...
THE FLOOD WATCH WILL BE CANCELED FOR DIXIE...TAYLOR...LAFAYETTE...AND MADISON
COUNTIES. HOWEVER...SOME ADDITIONAL RAINFALL FROM CHARLEY IN COMBINATION WITH
THE COLD FRONT OVER THE AREA IS EXPECTED...BUT OVERALL AMOUNTS WILL BE FROM LESS
THAN AN INCH TO AROUND 2 INCHES AT THE MOST. THIS RAINFALL OVER ALREADY
SATURATED GROUND...MAY CAUSE SOME LOCALIZED FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR
DRAINAGE AREAS...BUT NOT WIDESPREAD FLOODING.

...WIND IMPACTS...
FOR THE AREA...SOME GUSTY WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO
NEAR 30 MPH MAY BE SEEN TONIGHT...BUT THE THREAT WILL BE LIMITED. RESIDENTS
SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR CHARLEY'S MOVEMENT AND STRENGTH.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
TIDES ARE 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL...BUT ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY LOWER
OVERNIGHT AS CHARLEY MOVES OFF TO THE NORTHEAST.

THE LOCAL TIDES ARE AS FOLLOWS.

STEINHATCHEE...
HIGH TIDES AT 828 PM FRIDAY AND 8 AM SATURDAY.

MOUTH OF THE SUWANNEE RIVER...
HIGH TIDES AT 817 PM FRIDAY AND 749 AM SATURDAY.

COASTAL WATERS OFF THE FLORIDA BIG BEND WERE FROM 3 TO 5 FEET AND
ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THIS RANGE MOST OF TONIGHT...THEN GRADUALLY
LOWER ON SATURDAY.

THIS IS THE LAST LOCAL STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE IN TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA.
