SOUTHEAST OF KEY WEST. CHARLEY IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NORTHWEST
NEAR 17 MPH AND A GRADUAL TURN TO THE NORTHWEST IS EXPECTED OVER THE
NEXT 24 HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 75 MPH...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24

PASS JUST WEST OF THE KEYS...THE GREATEST THREAT OF STORM SURGE WILL
BE ALONG THE SOUTHERN...ATLANTIC SHORES OF THE KEYS.

CURRENTLY...WINDS OVER THE KEYS ARE FROM THE SOUTHEAST AT NEAR 10
MPH. ALONG THE REEF...AUTOMATED COASTAL STATIONS REPORT SOUTHEAST
WINDS NEAR 10 KNOTS. ISOLATED SHOWERS OVER THE STRAITS...NOT IN
ASSOCIATION WITH HURRICANE CHARLEY...MAY BRING BRIEF GUSTS UP TO 20
KNOTS THIS EVENING. THESE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE AT THESE
SPEEDS OVERNIGHT...AND BEGIN TO INCREASE THURSDAY EVENING. TROPICAL

TO LEAVE PORT THURSDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING...WHEN CONDITIONS OVER

RAINFALL OF 3 TO 6 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH HURRICANE CHARLEY
