...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN CUMBERLAND...EASTERN
DE KALB...VAN BUREN...NORTHEASTERN WARREN...WHITE AND PUTNAM COUNTIES
THROUGH 715 PM CDT...
At 649 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Smithville to 7 miles south of Spencer.
Movement was northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Sparta, Smithville, Spencer, Baxter, Pleasant Hill,
Doyle, Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers Crossroads, Virgin Falls State
Natural Area, Burgess Falls State Park, Rock Island State Park,
Center Hill Lake, Fall Creek Falls State Park, Indian Rock Lake,
Edgar Evins State Park, and Lake Tansi.
This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 267 and 296.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
Middle Tennessee.
