...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT
FOR SMITH...NORTHERN DE KALB...SOUTHWESTERN JACKSON...NORTHEASTERN
WILSON...CENTRAL TROUSDALE AND SOUTHWESTERN PUTNAM COUNTIES...

At 646 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Carthage,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Carthage, Gainesboro, Hartsville, Watertown, Baxter, Gordonsville,
Hickman, South Carthage, Alexandria, Dixon Springs, Pleasant Shade,
Center Hill Lake, Granville, and Edgar Evins State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 246 and 281.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for Middle
Tennessee.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
