...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT LEWIS...WAYNE...WESTERN
LAWRENCE...SOUTHWESTERN MAURY AND SOUTHEASTERN PERRY COUNTIES THROUGH
245 AM CDT...
At 216 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 10 miles north of Waynesboro to 7 miles west of
Collinwood. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lawrenceburg, Hohenwald, Waynesboro, Loretto, Collinwood, Summertown,
St. Joseph, Henryville, Westpoint, Iron City, and Lutts.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
