...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN SUMNER AND NORTHERN
MACON COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM CDT...
At 636 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Portland, or 10 miles north of Gallatin, moving east at 60 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Westmoreland, Portland, Mitchellville, Oak Grove, and Cottontown.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for Middle
Tennessee.
