...Climate Summary for July, 2023...

The month of July was typical as far as temperatures go, but most
of Middle Tennessee also received abundant rainfall.

In Nashville, the average temperature was 80.9 degrees. This was
just two-tenths of a degree above normal. The average high
temperature was 90.5 degrees and the average low temperature was
71.2 degrees. The highest temperature was 98 degrees on the 28th
and the lowest temperature was 63 degrees on the 11th. There were
22 days when the temperature reached 90 degrees or better.

Rainfall for July added up to 5.98 inches. This was 1.82 inches
above normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 2.08 inches
spanning the 18th and 19th. There were 16 days with measurable
rainfall, and two days with an inch or more. There were 11 days
with thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 67 mph on the 1st.

In Clarksville, the average temperature was 80.4 degrees. This
was 2.2 degrees above normal. The average high temperature was
90.6 degrees and the average low temperature was 70.1 degrees.
The highest temperature was 98 degrees on the 28th and the lowest
temperature was 60 degrees on the 11th. There were 23 days when
the temperature reached 90 degrees or better.

Rainfall for July added up to 2.92 inches. This was 0.82 inches
below normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.57 inches
spanning the 18th and 19th. There were 11 days with measurable
rainfall. There were 12 days with thunderstorms. The fastest wind
gust was 51 mph on the 29th.

In Crossville, the average temperature was 73.4 degrees. This was
four-tenths of a degree below normal. The average high
temperature was 82.8 degrees and the average low temperature was
64.0 degrees. The highest temperature was 88 degrees on the 28th
and the lowest temperature was 54 degrees on the 11th.

Rainfall for July added up to 5.56 inches. This was one-tenth of
an inch above normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 3.28
inches on the 20th. There were 12 days with measurable rainfall,
and one day with an inch or more. There were 12 days with
thunderstorms. The fastest wind gust was 49 mph on the 1st.

Looking ahead, the Middle Tennessee outlook for August from the
Climate Prediction Center favors above normal temperatures and
normal to above normal rainfall.
