...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Alabama...Tennessee...

  Elk River Near Prospect affecting Giles and Limestone Counties.

For the Elk River...including Prospect...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued Friday afternoon at 100 PM CST.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Elk River Near Prospect.

* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Water completely floods Veto Rd near the
  Hargrove - Johnson bridge south of Route 273. It may be unsafe to
  pass and motorists should seek an alternate route.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:15 PM CST Thursday the stage was 26.0 feet and rising.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 6:15 PM CST Thursday was 26.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    tomorrow evening and continue falling to 11.6 feet Tuesday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    25.9 feet on 03/14/1935.
