This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Middle Tennessee.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Rain showers will become heavier after midnight tonight.
Localized flooding may be possible in a few areas.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Heavy rain is expected Thursday and Thursday evening as a strong
surface boundary works its way across Middle Tennessee. The greatest
amounts are expected in areas near the Alabama state line, and also
along the Cumberland Plateau. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches
are expected in these areas, which may cause flooding on roads, poor
drainage areas, rivers and creeks.
Freezing rain is possible in some areas on Thursday and will spread
across most of mid state Thursday night. Ice accumulations of 0.25
inch to 0.40 inch will be possible for locations across Stewart,
Montgomery, Houston, and Humphreys Counties. For remaining portions
of mid state region, ice accumulations from a glaze up to 0.20 inch
will be possible. Total snowfall accumulations are expected to range
generally around 0.25 or less for locations mainly around and north
of I-40 Corridor.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will likely be needed for ice and snowfall
accumulation amounts. Please relay any information about ice
and snowfall accumulations amounts to the NWS while following
all local, state, and CDC guidelines.
