This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Middle Tennessee.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Light rain will spread across Middle Tennessee on Thursday, with the
rain rapidly changing to light snow Thursday evening before ending
Thursday night. Light snow accumulations ranging from a dusting up
to 1 inch are possible, with the highest amounts in the Upper
Cumberland and lowest amounts near the Alabama border. Any snow
accumulation or water on area roadways will quickly freeze into ice
Thursday night as temperatures drop, causing hazardous travel
conditions.

Dangerously cold temperatures are also expected across Middle
Tennessee from late Thursday through early Monday, with lows in the
single digits to near zero, and highs only in the 10s and 20s.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for up to 90
hours, which could cause exposed or unprotected pipes to rupture, as
well as result in isolated power outages.

A Wind Chill Warning is also now in effect for all of Middle
Tennessee from Thursday night through midday Friday. Gusty winds up
to 40 mph will cause wind chills to drop as low as 20 degrees below
zero at times Thursday night through midday Friday, and as low as 10
degrees below zero Friday afternoon into early Saturday. Such cold
wind chills could rapidly cause hypothermia, as well as cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Outdoor pets
and other animals should be brought indoors or given extra
protection and shelter to survive these cold wind chills.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed for any snow accumulations on
Thursday.
