The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Western Cumberland County in middle Tennessee...
Western Fentress County in middle Tennessee...
Central Pickett County in middle Tennessee...
* Until 1115 PM CDT.
* At 711 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain
have fallen since 4 pm.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Crossville, Jamestown, Clarkrange, Grimsley, Slate Springs,
Cumberland Mountain State Park, Lake Tansi, Pall Mall and Indian
Rock Lake.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
