April was much drier than the wet month of March across Middle
Tennessee, and temperatures averaged out very close to
climatological normals.
In Nashville, the average temperature was 59.1 degrees, which
matches the climatological normal for April. The average high
temperature was 70.7 degrees and the average low was 47.4 degrees.
The highest temperature in April was 84 degrees, which occurred on
the 9th and the 27th. The lowest temperature was 30 degrees on the
2nd. There were two days in which the temperature dropped to 32
degrees or below.
Rainfall for April added up to just 2.35 inches. This was 1.65
inches below normal. The greatest 24-hour rainfall was 0.84 inches
on the 28th and 29th. There were 10 days with measurable
precipitation. There was also a trace of snow on the 21st.
There were only 2 days with thunderstorms, and the peak wind gust
was 45 mph on the 7th.
In Clarksville, the average temperature was 56.6 degrees, which
was exactly 1 degree below normal. The average high temperature
was 68.5 degrees and the average low was 44.8 degrees. The
highest temperature in April was 84 degrees, which occurred on the
9th. The lowest temperature was 27 degrees on the 2nd. There were
