...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHERN OVERTON...SOUTHEASTERN
SMITH...NORTHEASTERN DE KALB...SOUTHEASTERN JACKSON...NORTHERN WHITE
AND PUTNAM COUNTIES UNTIL 300 AM CDT...

At 208 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Gordonsville to 7 miles northwest of
Smithville. Movement was east at 50 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Smithville, Algood, Monterey, Baxter, Dowelltown,
Hamptons Crossroads, Bakers Crossroads, Burgess Falls State Park,
Rickman, Center Hill Lake, Crawford, Edgar Evans State Park and
Cummins Falls State Park.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 263 and 304.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Middle Tennessee.
