...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM
CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
accumulations of 4 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of around
two tenths of an inch.
* WHERE...Northwest and west central counties of Middle
Tennessee.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible tonight
through early Tuesday morning. The cold wind chills as low as
zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mostly snow is expected throughout the
warning period for areas around Dover and Erin. Elsewhere, a mix
of freezing rain, sleet, and snow will develop tonight into
early Monday, then precipitation will change to all snow by
Monday afternoon. Most of the snow accumulation will occur
Monday afternoon and evening. Very cold air following the storm
will make travel conditions slow to improve through Tuesday.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult from tonight through
early Tuesday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation will start as mainly freezing
rain tonight with ice accumulation making travel hazardous. On
Monday, the precipitation will change over to all snow. Most of
the snow accumulation will occur in the late afternoon and
evening hours of Monday. Very cold air following the storm will
make travel conditions slow to improve through Tuesday.

CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Significant travel impacts from mixed precipitation
expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice
accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Cumberland Plateau and nearby areas.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult from tonight through
early Tuesday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Light freezing rain is expected to develop
tonight for the eastern sections of Middle Tennessee on and near
the Cumberland Plateau. Slick spots are expected. On Monday,
there may be some breaks in the precipitation, and some
locations may briefly rise above freezing. Another wave of
wintry precipitation will arrive late Monday afternoon and
Monday night with freezing rain and sleet changing to snow. The
mixed precipitation will create hazardous travel conditions.
Very cold air following the storm will make travel conditions
slow to improve through Tuesday.
