...Snowy and Icy Roads This Morning...
...Patchy Freezing Fog Possible through Mid Morning...
Much of eastern Middle Tennessee received from 2 to over 6 inches
of snow Saturday night, with many roadways still snow-covered and
icy. With temperatures remaining below freezing through the
morning, road conditions will remain hazardous, especially on
secondary roadways. Drivers are urged to use extra caution if
travelling this morning. Temperatures are expected to warm well
above freezing by this afternoon, which will melt much of the
snow and ice, improving road conditions.
In addition, the falling temperatures and heavy snow have caused
some patchy dense freezing fog to develop in some areas. Freezing
fog will add to the hazardous travel conditions, and may create
spots of black ice on roadways especially on bridges and
overpasses. Please use extra caution if travelling this morning.
