...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR NORTHWESTERN GILES, NORTHEASTERN LAWRENCE,
SOUTHEASTERN LEWIS AND MAURY COUNTIES...
At 1110 AM CDT, emergency management reported significant ongoing
flash flooding. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Columbia, Lawrenceburg, Spring Hill, Mount Pleasant, Summertown,
Ethridge, Hampshire, Williamsport, Santa Fe and Henryville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
