Areas affected...Southern KY...Northern TN
Concerning...Tornado Watch 48...
Valid 122320Z - 130045Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 48 continues.
SUMMARY...Severe threat will focus across southern KY this evening.
DISCUSSION...Longer-lived MCS that developed over the MO/IL region
has progressed downstream into KY. This activity is predominantly
north of a warm front that is advancing slowly north across the
southern OH Valley. Strongest updrafts are concentrated along the
southwestern flank of this broader area of convection as more
buoyant inflow is feeding supercells from Butler-Warrent County.
Given the observed shear vectors, and stronger instability noted
across the TN Valley, storm motions should remain just south of
east. As a result, the most favorable corridor for strong convection
will remain across southern KY.
