...Heat Index Values Above 100 Degrees This Afternoon...
Dewpoints returning to the 70s with high temperatures in the mid
90s will combine to bring heat index values around 100 to 105
degrees during the late morning through the afternoon today. If
you have to be outside, drink plenty of fluids, wear lightweight
loose fitting clothing, stay out of the sun if possible, and take
frequent breaks. Check up on relatives and neighbors, and if you
can, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or
evening. Young children or pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. Heat index values should
decrease in the late afternoon and evening.
