  Piney River Near Vernon affecting Hickman County

. Heavy rainfall from yesterday caused rises on area waterways.  Piney River
near Vernon crested yesterday around 13.24 feet and has since fallen below
advisory levels.  The flood advisory has been cancelled.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

from the National Weather Service.

The Flood Advisory is cancelled for
  The Piney River Near Vernon
* At 4AM Sunday the stage was 9.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* The river will continue to fall.
* At 10.0 feet...Water begins to overflow the natural banks and inundates low
  lying areas along the river from Interstate 40 to near Pinewood, Nunnelly, and
  down to the Duck River.
