...Another Round of Heavy Rain and Flooding Today and Tomorrow...
.Another round of moderate to heavy rain will spread across
Middle Tennessee today and continue through tonight, before
gradually diminishing on Friday. Rainfall totals are expected to
range from around 1 inch across northwest Middle Tennessee to as
much as 3 to 4 inches over southeast Middle Tennessee. With
grounds still saturated from the heavy rainfall last Sunday and
many rivers running higher than normal, this rainfall could lead
to more flooding across the area.

Forecast rainfall amounts have decreased across far northwest
Middle Tennessee, with the heavier rain and more significant
flood threat now expected to be further southeast of this area.
Therefore the flood watch has been cancelled for these counties.

The Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following areas,
Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, Davidson,
De Kalb, Dickson, Fentress, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Humphreys,
Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Overton,
Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner,
Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson, and
Wilson.
* From noon CST today through Friday afternoon
* Rainfall totals are expected to range from around 1 inch over
far northwest Middle Tennessee to as much as 3 to 4 inches
across southern and southeastern Middle Tennessee
* Heavy rainfall could lead to flooding of roads, low lying
areas, low water crossings, rivers, creeks and streams
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
