The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Central Davidson County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 845 PM CST.
* At 541 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Doppler
radar estimates one-half inch of rain has fallen in the past 30 to
40 minutes.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Nashville, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Belle Meade, Lakewood,
Hermitage, Antioch, Berry Hill and Bells Bend.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 200 and 221.
Interstate 65 between mile markers 75 and 89.
Interstate 24 between mile markers 44 and 61.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
