PM CST...

At 508 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles north of Lafayette to 9 miles west of
Smithville. Movement was east at 60 mph.

Pea size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Cookeville, Sparta, Smithville, Lafayette, Livingston, Carthage,
Celina, Gainesboro, Algood, Monterey, Baxter, Gordonsville, Red
Boiling Springs, Hickman, South Carthage, Alexandria, Dowelltown,
Liberty, Hamptons Crossroads and Moss.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 253 and 303.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
