...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN DAVIDSON...RUTHERFORD...WILLIAMSON...SOUTHERN WILSON
AND NORTHWESTERN CANNON COUNTIES...
At 815 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Watertown to Thompson's Station, moving east at
35 mph. These storms have produced numerous reports of quarter size
hail and blown down trees in the southern Nashville metro area.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Murfreesboro, Franklin, Smyrna, Brentwood, La Vergne, Spring Hill,
Nolensville, Thompson's Station, Watertown, Walterhill, Eagleville,
Auburntown, Lascassas, Triune, Cedars Of Lebanon State Park, Leipers
Fork and Milton.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 65 between mile markers 55 and 72.
Interstate 24 between mile markers 60 and 81.
Interstate 840 between mile markers 10 and 70.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
