The National Weather Service in Nashville has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for...
West central Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 130 AM CST.
* At 1019 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain is approaching
the warned area. Flash flooding will be a threat over the next
few hours as these storms move through the warned area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cookeville, Algood, Mine Lick Creek including Baxter, and Cane
Creek including Apple Valley Estates, Wildwood, and Ditty.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
