The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Western and middle Tennessee

* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 855 PM
  until 100 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Although the persistent severe MCS over western KY and
southeastern MO is expected to weaken with time as it moves into
progressively more-stable air in TN, it still may offer damaging
convective gusts into the new watch area in the meantime.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 35
statute miles either side of a line from 45 miles southwest of
Jackson TN to 110 miles east northeast of Jackson TN. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
