...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM CDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN SMITH...JACKSON...SOUTHWESTERN CLAY AND EASTERN MACON
COUNTIES...
At 442 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding ongoing
across much of Macon and Jackson Counties with numerous roads closed
due to high water. Radar estimates 3 to 5 inches of rain has fallen
so far today. Additional thunderstorms will move across the area
this afternoon, with additional flash flooding likely.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lafayette, Gainesboro, Red Boiling Springs, Granville, Whitleyville
and Cummins Falls State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
