...Expect Frigid Conditions through the mid morning hours on New
Years Day... ... Expect Frigid Conditions again from Midnight
Monday Night through noon on Tuesday...
.Cold Arctic air will persist across Middle Tennessee tonight,
New Year Day, and into Tuesday. Steady winds ushering in this
cold air will begin to drop wind chill values below zero tonight,
with some locations approaching -5 degrees by midnight. By the
morning hours of New Years Day, most of the mid state may see
wind chill values below -5 degrees. Another night of cold air is
expected Monday night with wind chill values bottoming out around
8 below zero.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
NOON CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. Very cold wind chills
expected. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as
little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to
range from 0 to 5 below zero. Expect wind chills to range from
10 above zero to 5 below zero.
* WHERE...Portions of Middle Tennessee.
* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Advisory, now to 9 AM this morning.
For the Wind Chill Advisory, midnight to noon Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS....Expect frigid conditions tonight. Dress
accordingly in plenty of layers and minimize exposed skin. In
addition to these frigid temperatures, little recovery during
the daytime hours could cause problems for exposed plumbing. Be
sure to take the necessary precautions keep water pipes from
freezing. Bring any pets indoors and check on neighbors,
elderly, and the homeless.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
