...Expect a Period of Light Snow or Flurries to Sweep Across the
Mid State This Evening...
A surge of cold Canadian air will move into the Mid-State this
evening, dropping temperatures quickly out of the 40s and into the
30s and 20s. As the cold air rushes in, and the temperature falls
to near the freezing mark, you can expect a brief period of light
snow or flurries to occur.
A dusting of snow, amounting to one or two tenths of an inch, is
possible over parts of the Mid-State tonight, especially the
northwest, around Clarksville...the Highland Rim, around
Springfield, White House and Portland...and along the northern
Cumberland Plateau...around Crossville and Jamestown. Any light
accumulation that occurs is expected to be mainly on roof tops and
grassy areas, although a few slick spots might develop on bridges
and overpasses...especially in the form of patchy black ice later
in the night, after the temperature falls into the 20s.
