The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Southern Sumner County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 645 PM CDT.
* At 537 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms
producing torrential rains over southern parts of Sumner County,
including the Gallatin and Hendersonville areas. This heavy
rainfall will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Doppler radar estimates between one and two inches of rain has
fallen in some isolated spots and an additional inch of rain is
possible before the storms weaken.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gallatin, Hendersonville and Bledsoe Creek State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will likely cause flooding in
of some highways, streets and underpasses in urban areas as well as
other drainage areas and low lying spots. Those traveling through
these areas, including those heading out of Nashville toward these
areas during rush hour, should avoid any flooded areas. Remember,
turn around, don't drown.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
